Business Development Officer

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead Generation: Conduct proactive market research and outreach activities to identify potential leads and initiate contact with prospective clients. Collaborate with the marketing team to develop lead generation strategies.

  2. Opportunity Assessment: Evaluate and assess the feasibility and profitability of new business opportunities within the upstream sector, considering technical, financial, and operational aspects.

  3. Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, ensuring their needs are met and their expectations exceeded. Act as a trusted advisor, continuously identifying opportunities for collaboration and growth.

  4. New Client Acquisition: Develop and implement strategies to acquire new clients and expand the company's client base. Tailor presentations and proposals to effectively communicate our services and value proposition.

  5. Proposal Development: Collaborate with technical teams to create compelling and comprehensive proposals for clients. Ensure that proposals align with the client's objectives and industry best practices.

  6. Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations with clients to secure contracts, ensuring mutually beneficial terms and conditions. Work closely with legal and finance teams to finalize agreements.

  7. Market Intelligence: Stay updated on industry trends, competitors, and emerging technologies in the upstream sector. Provide regular reports and analysis to inform strategic decision-making.

  8. Reporting and Forecasting: Maintain accurate records of business development activities and outcomes. Prepare forecasts and reports on sales pipeline, revenue projections, and market trends for management review.

Skills:

  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or commercial roles within the oil and gas industry, with a strong focus on the upstream sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of upstream operations, including exploration, drilling, production, and reservoir engineering.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to generate leads, identify opportunities, and convert them into profitable business deals.
  • Analytical mindset with the capacity to assess market conditions, risks, and financial implications.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • REMUNERATION: 250k-300k net
